Stray Voltage is back!
After a difficult Covid year with only 1 gig, and with the help of virtual rehearsal technology (who says old guys can't learn new tricks - apologies to Nick and Jeanna), Stray Voltage is ready to rock again! We have some personnel changes to report, along with a schedule update.
First, we are pleased to welcome back Brian Running on bass. A consummate professional and excellent musician, Brian has rejoined the band in light of the departure of Mike Rodenkirch (better known as Rudy). Rudy has joined The Now - a top-notch band that he's made even better. We said farewell on great terms, and perhaps Rudy will fill in for Brian on occasion down the road. Meanwhile, we're thrilled to have Brian back!
Second, Jeanna and Nick (along with their spouses, of course) have added new SVB fans to the fold. Jeanna and her husband Alex welcomed Nell Frances Bunke on March 15, while Nick and his wife Meghan welcomed Gianna Mae Russo on April 21. Congratulations to the proud parents!
With her new parenting responsibilities, Jeanna has decided to take a break from performing. We will truly miss her golden voice, though tentatively she's planning to join us for the Taste of Mequon gig on September 11 (see below). Make your plans now to catch her this year!
Lastly, in part due to delays caused by the pandemic, the band has a higher number of wedding gigs than prior years. This has limited our availability for public performances, but we've got three locked in that you'll want to note on your calendar:
August 6 - Friday Night Live, downtown Waukesha
September 3 - Friday Night Live, downtown Waukesha
September 11 - Taste of Mequon, Mequon City Hall
Our Facebook page and website (strayvoltageband.com) will have updates as the year progresses - stay tuned for the latest info.
A big thank you to all our friends for sticking with us during this long absence. The end is in sight, and the masks are coming off. It'll be great to see your smiles again at our gigs - we know you're ready to rock, too!
